The Role of Surrogate Data in Supraharmonic Assessment Uncertainty Evaluation

This paper presents an approach to study the impact of the phase spectrum on the measurement systems, emphasizing the analysis of 9–150 kHz supraharmonic assessment methods. The analysis is performed by applying the Fourier Domain version of the method of Surrogate Data. Two digital CISPR methods, based on the Short-Time Fourier-Transform (STFT) and a quasi-peak detector and a modified version are evaluated with the proposed approach. Both theoretical and experimental signals are considered. The results show that with similar power spectra, the phase spectrum had an impact on the output of the measurement system of up to 29 % in experimental results. Also, the impact of signal discontinuity and nonlinearity is highlighted.
