The Intersection of AI, Ethics, and Education: A Bibliometric Analysis

The integration between Artificial intelligence and education has showcased a significant interest and raised a lot of concerns about its ethical considerations. AI serves the role of a virtual tutor that provides specific interventions, real-time feedback and adaptive methods to boost the learning experience. Despite all the benefits, integrating AI into education also raises ethical concerns including data privacy, algorithmic bias and human interference within the learning process still remains a major concern. This study examines 251 scholarly articles from the year 2014 to 2023 to explore the intersection of artificial intelligence and education, showcasing growing interest in the potential of AI to improve educational outcomes and focus on inequalities. This research aims at the exponential growth in annual publication numbers since 2019, underlining the urgency to address ethical considerations in AI integrated education. Major themes include implementing AI to optimize learning experience, ensuring unbiased and transparent AI designs which can prevent the occurrence of biases, evaluating AI systems to reduce the adverse impacts. This study highlights the dynamic potential of AI in education, ethical use of AI, global impact, and future research directions, focusing on the crucial role of ethical considerations of AI in education to ensure it fulfills humanity's best interests without enhancing societal inequalities or biases.
