Adaptive Leaky-Integrate-And-Fire Neuron Model Design and Analysis

In this paper, we've developed an analog neuromor-phic circuit based on Adaptive Leaky-Integrate & Fire (LIF) model, using SCL's 180nm CMOS technology. The utilization of the LIF model is chosen for its efficiency, requiring a minimal number of transistors for spike generation. We have also eval-uated the circuit's performance by testing it with diverse input waveforms, encompassing step, pulse, sinusoidal, and sawtooth inputs, conducted for both pre-layout and post-layout. The design is compact by eliminating the traditional usage of a comparator in the LIF model, achieves a maximum energy of 1.4pJ/spike, spike rate of 8.8MHz and an overall area of
