Investigation of Low-Cost Heater Configurations for Indium Tin Oxide-Based Gas Sensors

Temperature regulation plays a crucial role in determining the performance of Metal oxide semiconductor (MOS) based gas sensors, as it enables the selective detection of a range of gases. Achieving uniform temperature distribution is of utmost importance to ensure accurate and reliable detection of the target gas, especially for volatile organic compounds (VOCs). In this study, the authors address the challenge of developing cost-effective heater configurations for indium tin oxide (ITO)-based gas sensors, presenting a practical solution for achieving precise temperature control. Two different heater arrangements are designed and developed. These arrangements are later used to detect methanol and ethanol vapours at different operating temperatures.
