Power Line Communication Based Sensor Data Acquisition & Monitoring System For Canal Automation

Power Line Communication (PLC) is a technology that allows data transmission over existing power line networks, offering high-speed capabilities for video, voice, and data services. This research proposes a protocol for PLC in canal automation, aiming to utilize existing power line infrastructure for efficient data acquisition and monitoring. By leveraging PLC, extensive construction and dedicated communication line laying can be avoided, resulting in cost savings and accelerated deployment. Real-time data transmission enables prompt monitoring and control of canal systems, facilitating timely responses to changing conditions. The core principle of PLC involves superimposing high-frequency signals on the low-energy power wave, enabling simultaneous power and data transmission. Adopting PLC in canal automation provides cost-effective data transmission, leveraging existing infrastructure for improved operational outcomes.
