Electromagnetic Simulation of Complex Motion Target Based on the Lorentz-FDTD Method

This paper investigates the electromagnetic (EM) echo properties of a plasma-coated target at different complex motion states using the Lorentz time-domain finite-difference (Lorentz-FDTD) method. Firstly, the EM scattering model of moving plasma is proposed. Secondly, the motion matrix is employed to simulate the different motions of the object, including in spin, conical, and nutation motion states. In conjunction with the Lorentz-FDTD method, the scattered field radiated by the high velocity target in different motion states is calculated and analyzed. The research results indicate that the EM echoes of the radar target are modulated to varying degrees both the time and frequency domains due to its different motion statuses.
