A Novel 2D Non-Uniform Mesh FDTD Method Based on Coordinate Transformations

The FDTD method is a direct time-domain method for solving Maxwell's differential equations. The algorithm has two natural drawbacks:the traditional FDTD method is limited by the Courant- Friedrichs- Lewy limit, especially when using fine meshes, and the computation time can be long. In order to solve the problem of long computational time, this paper proposes a non-uniform grid technique to solve this problem,and obtains an iterative equation that is more suitable for non-uniform grid calculation of coordinate transformation through the condition of uniform transformation.
