Design of Single-/Dual-Wideband BPF with Checkerboard Layout

A network model is proposed to design bandpass filters (BPFs). Based on this model, a wideband BPF and a dual-wideband BPF with the checkerboard layout are designed and measured. For wideband BPF, it operates at 2.0 GHz with a 3 dB fractional bandwidth (FBW) of 113.5% and the stopband is extended to 9.5 GHz with a suppression level of 15 dB. The dual-band BPF with central frequencies (CFs) at 1.51 GHz and 3.79 GHZ have a 3 dB FBW of 104% and 65.2%.
