Simulation and Experimental Research on Lightning Current Erosion Damage of CFRP Composites

Aim at the complex characteristics of lightning damage of carbon fiber reinforced polymers (CFRP) composites, the simulation model of lightning current thermal ablation damage of CFRP composites is established, which based on the test of conduction characteristics of lightning flow A-component CFRP composites, and the model take the sublimation temperature of matrix and carbon fiber as the boundary standard of thermal ablation damage, and the lightning damage under A waveform is simulated. Combined with the results of lightning test and C-scan, the damage characteristics were studied, which laid a foundation for the subsequent damage assessment and protection of composite materials.
