Rasorber with Low-Profile and Low-Density Achieved by Magnetic Metamaterial

We proposed a novel frequency selective rasorber that combines low-profile and low-density based on three types of magnetic materials. To realize broadband transmission at low frequencies and strong broadband absorption at high freqencies, a three-layer structure with different types of magnetic materials is designed. Each layer features a pyramid-aperture-cuboid configuration to maintain a sustained electromagnetic performance under various incident angles. Simulation results show that the rasorber based on magnetic metamaterials can achieve the transmission coefficient more than 0.9 over 0.5-3.48 GHz and the absorptivity more than 80% over 10–18 GHz. At the same time, this rasorber can also maintain the desired electromagnetic performance under oblique incidence of up to 30 degree. This work offers a novel approach to designing frequency-selective rasorbers and broadens the application of magnetic materials.
