Influence of Salinity on Contactless Power Transmission System in Seawater

This paper describes the influence of salinity on a contactless power transmission system in seawater. The transmission efficiency, power, and total power loss are measured in changing salinity through experiments. In order to investigate these factors, magnetic flux density, the number of chain fluxes, main flux, and leakage flux have been measured by magnetic field analysis with JMAG. In this paper, the leakage flux and transmission system of salinity are investigated from the results of simulation and experiments. It is found that the increased salinity causes the decrease in power efficiency.
