Analysis of the Cough Sound Records

The article deals with the actual R&D problem of detection and analysis of the recording of cough sounds because of mechanical vibrations of the biological structure. It is a reaction of medical practice to the need for qualitative and quantitative evaluation of sounds. The recording of the sounds takes place in the sleep laboratory of the university hospital via polysomnographic ex-amination. The obtained signals are mathematically and statistically evaluated. Wavelet transform, power spectral density, cross-correlation function and other statistically significant parameters are mainly used for the analysis and evaluation of recordings. The obtained results are presented and discussed in this paper.
