Choosing Right Topology for Bidirectional Power Converter Used in a Battery Storage System Based on Efficiency and Economic Perspective

This paper deals with the topology selection for the DC-DC section of a power converter, which is part of a battery energy storage system. In evaluating the topology options, economic indicators for the actual production of the device as well as for the costs associated with continuous operation were evaluated. The comparison focuses on two competing topologies that allow bidirectional power transfer with an identical number of switching elements.
