Electricity accessibility is crucial for various reasons. It enhances the quality of life by providing access to lighting, communication, and refrigeration. It also supports education, healthcare and economical development. Electrification infrastructure has been a fundamental factor for the society among the years. We should also seek for a development to reduce the reliance on traditional fuels leading to improved environmental conditions. Another relevant factor is the boost of electric vehicle (EV) manufacturing and usage. The necessary infrastructure to attend the respective demand has a key role in the energy transition. It requires a development of a widespread charging infrastructure. Considering that the EV adoption depends also on the reduction of the ‘consumer anxiety’ regarding charging access (availability within battery range) and charging time, the infrastructure must be deployed at a faster pace along with the increasing EV on the roads, in order to provide a successful transition. On the other hand, the application of classic solutions for energy supply for this purpose are time consuming, requires a considerable investment delaying the necessary transition. Moreover, they can be costly when grid reinforcements are needed, mainly outside the urban centres, preventing a global coverage for EV at a price that society is willing to accept. The paper presents a flexible and tailor-made solution to overcome different application such as electrifying remote areas by a direct connection from the existing transmission grid, delivering high power without grid constraints and using a modular and scalable approach to attend the current and further society demand.
