Demonstration of Chinese Modular System Promotes the Modernization of Logistics Industry

North America, Europe, Australia and other regions have used vehicle combinations with two or more trailers for cargo transportation. The implementation results show that vehicle combinations can effectively improve transportation efficiency, improve road capacity, reduce fuel consumption and pollutant emissions, and promote the smooth, efficient, safe and green development of the road freight industry. It is an inherent demand of the modern road freight industry to learn from foreign advanced transportation modes and develop vehicle combinations transportation suitable for Chinese national conditions. The article introduces the situation of China's freight vehicles and infrastructure, explains the significance of carrying out pilot demonstrations of Chinese Modular System (CMS) in China, analyzes the feasibility of pilot demonstrations, and finally gives suggestions for pilot demonstration programs.
