Estimation Economic Damage and Efficiency of Electrical Equipment Taking into Account the Higher Harmonics at the Mining Enterprise

The influence a higher harmonics on the electrical network of the mining enterprise is very relevant. The main problem lies in the different types of equipment. In a mining plant these are cable lines, transformers and powerful motor loads. More often than not, the proposed design solutions do not take into account the specifics of such facilities related to both technology, temperature conditions and the conditions of electrical equipment operation in normal and emergency modes. In this study modeled the object of mining industry in the software package Matlab Simulink. The model of 220/10 kV substation with UKRM was developed taking into account the number and connection scheme of single capacitors and adequacy check was performed. Methods of economic damage assessment are proposed. They are based on additional losses on active power, changes in the capacity of electrical equipment and reduction in its service life. The classifier of damages from higher harmonics for insulation of cable lines is offered. Higher harmonics directly affect the efficiency of substation electrical equipment mining, harmonics normal and emergency modes power system. Therefore, a thorough and comprehensive study of the issue is required. All levels of power supply need to be considered as the damage continues to increase.
