The Effects of Permanent Magnet Rounding on the Performance Characteristics of Synchronous Motor with Permanent Magnets

This publication examines how the rounding of permanent magnets affects the performance of a permanent magnet synchronous motor. The engine was modeled and various degrees of rounding were considered, and as a result of the study, the optimal rounding was selected and it was concluded that rounding allows increasing speed characteristics. Due to the rapid development of the electric drive, optimization and improvement of output characteristics is an integral part of the development of precision technologies. As a result of the simulation, the dependences of the effect of the rounding of permanent magnets on induction in the air gap, the efficiency coefficient, the output torque on the shaft and the rotation speed are obtained. These parameters will help to analyze in detail whether rounding should be performed and, if necessary, select the required level of rounding for specific operational tasks. The established dependencies will help at the design stage of the electric shift.
