The Optimal Cross Sections Method of Choosing the Conductors 35–220 kV of Power Supply Networks

The problem of choosing the cross-section of conductors has been studied sufficiently to offer a large number of methods for determining their optimal cross-section, taking into account the necessary factors, including reliability. The trend of development of small generation leads to the conclusion that power supply systems are being improved, therefore, in order to ensure the best technical and economic indicators, there is a need to improve existing methods. This paper presents an algorithm for selecting optimal conductor sections of sections of electrical networks of industrial enterprises with a voltage of 35–220 kV, developed on the basis of the method of coordinate descent using the method of penalty functions. Based on the algorithm, a method has been developed for determining the appropriate cross-sections of conductors, which allows calculating the cross-section of wires according to the criterion of minimum costs for construction and operation of electric networks, taking into account the reliability factor. Based on the calculation results, models of overhead power transmission lines adapted to voltage levels of 35–220 kV are specially designed for the developed algorithm. The proposed method will reduce the above costs while maintaining the required reliability. The result and practical significance of the research is the possibility of using mathematical models that allow building more economical networks and speeding up the solution of pre-project tasks.
