Analysis of Wind Potential of the Republic of Dagestan and Energy Characteristics of the Caspian Sea Coastline

The article considers the wind potential of the Republic of Dagestan. The basic data on available databases on wind speeds are given. All operating meteorological stations on the territory of the Republic of Dagestan are analyzed. The Caspian Sea coastline is also analyzed separately for further consideration of offshore wind power plants. For the coastline of the Caspian Sea the main energy indicators are analyzed according to the data of meteorological stations. The geographical location on the Caspian Sea coastline - the meteorological station on Tyuleniy Island - is studied in detail. The methodology of determining the Hellman coefficient for translating wind speeds to altitude from the vertical wind profile is also considered.
