The Use of Cyber-Physical Systems in Metallurgical Production Management

The article claims that the introduction of Industry 4.0 components into existing technological processes makes it possible to achieve energy and material savings with management systems improvement. Arc steelmaking furnaces and continuous casting machines are the examples, where we use digital measuring transformers and digital twins as virtual sensors. Metallurgical production requires high energy and material consumption. Therefore, even a slight improvement of management quality in percentage terms, achieved with new technical means, allows for significant benefits. In this case, a slight improvement in relative units gives a big gain in absolute terms. As a result the structure the continuous casting machine is described and the computer program for digital measuring transformers is developed
