Studies of a Traction Electric Drive with a Combined Energy Storage Device

This article discusses the problem of battery life for modern electric cars and a method for solving it by creating a combined electrical energy storage device. After theoretical and practical research of energy storage devices in urban traffic conditions, comparison of their advantages, disadvantages and practical implementation, the concept of a combined electrical energy storage device based on lithium-ion batteries with an additional capacitive energy storage device was developed. The result is a fully working prototype for the «MAMI» car with reduced current load and increased battery life. U sing the obtained theoretical and practical data, as well as focusing on a working prototype, we can develop and release a new battery system - a combined electrical energy storage device on the market, in which, due to the rapid growth of the electric vehicle industry and the popularity of lithium-ion batteries, it will be able to capture share of market.
