Developing Fuzzy Model using the Key Gas Method to Determine the Defects Occurring in Oil Power Transformers

Oil power transformers are important and expensive pieces of equipment, and defects occurring in their active part may result in serious damage and transformer failure. Defects in the magnetic core, electrical, and dielectric circuits can lead to severe damage to the equipment and pose a threat to the environment. Proper operation and regulated technical maintenance can identify emerging defects and extend the operational lifespan of the power transformer. Performing the preventive diagnostic of developing defects requires the methods based on the chromatographic analysis of dissolved gases (DGA) in oil. The authors developed a fuzzy logic model using the Fuzzy logic package and the MATLAB software based on the key gas method. This article presents research results for an oil sample from a 40 MVA and 110 kV power transformer.
