Implementation Assessment of Tracker Installations in Solar Power Plants Under Conditions of the Russian Far North

The search for applied methods for increasing electricity production from solar power plants in isolated and remote territories of the North is in high demand in order to increase the fuel and energy efficiency of autonomous generation facilities. The purpose of the study is to assess the implementation effectiveness of existing tracker installations in solar power plants located in isolated and remote areas of the North. Methods were used to identify the effectiveness of implementing tracker installations in solar energy facilities and to process data of autonomous generation facilities. It has been established that the increase in electricity generation from photovoltaic panels (PV) with tracking installations has been recorded at 48.9% compared to placing the panels fixed on the ground. The share of the reduction in diesel fuel consumption due to the operation of the unit with tracker installations and PV amounted 42.6% of the average annual total fuel savings for the entire facility. The results of study can be applied in updating programs of applied measures aimed at increasing the efficiency of autonomous generation facilities in the climatic conditions of the North.
