Development of Regulatory Requirements for Calculation of Electrical Loads of Schools and Kindergartens

The article discusses the development of regulatory requirements for calculating electrical loads of kindergartens and schools. A comparison of the calculated electrical loads and the actual ones confirmed the need to develop a methodology for calculating the electrical loads of kindergartens and schools due to the significant discrepancy between the results. Standard values for specific electrical loads of kindergartens and schools were established more than 20 years ago and could not take into account progress in the field of energy-saving technologies in lighting systems, computer equipment, and the use of outsourcing to provide meals to students, when delivered ready-made food is only heated. In this regard, modern research into the electrical loads of these institutions is relevant in order to bring outdated standards into compliance with them. Inflated standards for electrical loads cause an unjustified increase in the cost of building power supplies for kindergartens and schools. It is proposed to amend SP 256.1325800.2016 “Electrical installations of residential and public buildings. Rules for design and installation” in terms of updating the calculation of electrical loads of kindergartens and schools. The technical and economic effect of implementing the research results is to reduce the capital costs of construction companies on power supply systems for kindergartens and schools, due to the reduction in costs for the declared capacities of transformer substations and cable and wire products intended for the construction of electrical networks, due to the use of electrical equipment with less power and lower consumption of electrical materials.
