Dual-Band and Dual-Polarized Millimeter-Wave Leaky-Wave Antenna

In this paper, we propose a dual-band and dual-polarized leaky-wave antenna based on corrugated substrate integrated waveguide (CSIW) at millimeter-wave band. The periodic open stubs work as the spoof surface plasmon polariton (SPP) mode at lower frequencies, and they will become the equivalent shorting vias for the half SIW mode at higher frequencies. Due to the SPP and SIW modes, the CSIW transmission line can operate in dual band. By loading periodic elements along both sides of the CSIW, it can achieve dual-band and dual-polarized leaky-wave radiation. In 22-28GHz band, the radiation beam scans from -13° to +30° with horizontal polarization, and the polarization state will become vertical with -21° ∼ +8° scanning range in 52-66 GHz.
