A Broadband Dual-Polarized Dielectric Resonator Antenna for Millimeter-Wave Communication

A broadband dual-polarized dielectric resonator antenna (DRA) is presented for millimeter-wave communication. Two orthogonal feeding networks, utilizing cross aperture coupling, are implemented for vertical and horizontal polarization. In addition, a metallized blind-via is introduced to extend the operating band. Consequently, an overlapped impedance bandwidth of 26.76-39.66 GHz (38.8%) is obtained.
