Virtual Laboratory Work “Isochoric Heating of Water and Water Vapor”

A virtual laboratory work allows us to study the properties of a real gas in an isochoric process. The isochoric process mathematical model takes into account the peculiarities of the properties of water and water vapor; accurate tabular data are used to describe thermodynamic parameters in one- and two-phase regions. The necessary thermodynamic properties are described by several virial equations using software package the Mathematica-10. The results of the interactive experiment form to study the dependence of density on temperature and pressure of a substance in single-phase and two-phase regions during isochoric heating. Isochoric heating is investigated at specific volume values less than critical and greater than the critical one. The developed computer model is implemented in independent mode and applicable for conducting the experiment. The installation of additional programs on the computer is not allowed.
