Green Supplier Selection Problem for Fast Food Industry

Since increasing competition and decreasing resources in the globalizing world, companies have focused on activities that add value to the product and supply chain management has become substantial. On the other hand, the concept of sustainability has emerged as environmental awareness and gained importance as a result of both international and national environmental agreements in order to prevent permanent damage from production activities. In accordance with the agreements made for sustainability, companies in the fast food consumption sector, like the other companies, have increased their green supply chain management practices. In this study, eight criteria extracted from academic studies are taken into account and examined for a green supply chain. These criteria were evaluated by experts working in the fast food sector, which has the highest market share among domestic producers in Turkey. The interval-valued intuitionistic fuzzy analytic hierarchy process method is utilized to determine the selection of the most appropriate strategy for this company from the four green supply chain management strategies (eco-innovation-based management, eco-industrial parks and strategic partnerships, spreading green consumption awareness and green purchasing and distribution). With the green supply chain policy determined by the proposed method, companies may take more conscious steps for the green supply chain, and compliance with national and international environmental standards may be easier for them.
