An IoT System for Sitting Posture Detection Using Ultrasonic Sensor and Web Application

The way humans sit can have a significant impact on their physical health, making it crucial to maintain proper posture while seated. Ensuring that humans sit in a correct manner is essential for the body to prevent any potential health issues. Incorrect posture can lead to a range of physical health issues including discomfort in the back and neck, imbalances in the muscles, poor digestion, headaches, reduced lung function, inadequate blood flow, and diminished energy and focus. In this work, an innovative system to identify poor posture by using an ultrasonic sensor and a Wi-Fi module is used. The system records the data and sends it to a website where users can monitor the posture progress. The kit box is constructed using three-dimensional printing technology, which makes it convenient and easy to handle. This kit has the potential to enhance people’s posture and avert health issues linked to poor posture.
