Comparative Analysis of Performance Characteristics Between Flexible Single Element Patch Antenna and Flexible Two-Element Array Antenna

The performance characteristics of flexible single-element patch antennas and flexible two-element array antennas are compared in this research. It is necessary to evaluate these antennas’ performance under various operating settings and limitations due to the increasing requirement for flexible antennas in contemporary wireless communication systems. Flexible antennas offer advantages such as conformability to irregular surfaces, lightweight construction, and enhanced durability, making them suitable for applications in wearable devices, on-body and off-body communications, ingestible and implantable applications. The comparative study evaluates key performance metrics including radiation pattern, gain, directivity, bandwidth, and impedance matching for both flexible single element patch antennas and flexible two-element array antennas. The simulation outcomes are displayed to highlight how the two antennas perform differently from one another under bending and deformation conditions. Factors such as substrate material, bending radius, and array element spacing are considered in the analysis to comprehend their influence on antenna performance. The findings of this investigation offer reasonable information about the trade-offs between flexible single element patch antennas and flexible two-element array antennas in terms of performance characteristics.
