Smart Trolley With RSSI - Opencv Based Navigation and RFID Billing System

Shopping plays a vital role in our day-to-day activities; yet waiting in long queues for billing purchased goods can be cumbersome, leading to unnecessary time consumption and possible billing mistakes. Supermarket trolleys, while helpful, can be difficult to manage during shopping. To address this, the concept of a self-guiding, autonomous shopping trolley is introduced. The main aim of this innovation is to enhance shopping convenience through a smart trolley that autonomously follows the shopper. It uses the Received Signal Strength Indicator (RSSI) of a designated tag or a mobile phone connected via WI-FI for tracking. A camera installed at the front of the trolley assists in person tracking. Additionally, this trolley has the capability to calculate the total cost of items inside it, thereby easing the shopper’s burden of trolley management. Upon connection with a customer, the trolley’s camera identifies the customer, allowing the trolley to follow them seamlessly during their shopping experience.
