Optimal Sizing of a Planar Spiral Inductor using Multi-Objective Optimization Algorithms

This paper examines the application of three multi-objective metaheuristics: multi-objective artificial bee colony (MOABC), multi-objective particle swarm optimization (MOPSO), and non-dominated sorting genetic algorithm (NSGA-II), to optimize a planar spiral inductor. The optimization focuses on two conflicting performance objectives: maximizing the quality factor (Q) while minimizing the area of the inductor. The validity of the design results is confirmed through circuit simulations conducted using Keysight's ADS Momentum simulator.
