Application of a Coupled Nonlinear Observer and Control for a Semi-Continuous Chemical Reactor

This paper aims to develop a multivariable nonlin-ear control system for regulating both fatty acid concentration and reactor temperature. To achieve this, we propose a robust nonlinear observer to estimate all process state variables. This observer is integrated with a nonlinear controller design, utilizing globally linearized control principles. The effectiveness of the proposed control and observer is demonstrated through its application to a Semi-Continuous Stirred Tank Reactor (SCSTR), showcasing its performance in regulating the system.
