Detecting Secondary Arc Termination Time Based On Change In Total Harmonic Distortion Level

Secondary fault arc extinction time represents the final stage of the one-phase to ground fault scenario before the fault permanently vanished the determination of secondary arc extinction instant is used to adapt the dead time of one-phase auto reclosure. According to the fact that at each stage the amount of harmonics has a different value this sequence of changes in (THD) value distinguishes the secondary arc time last event. To establish this 400-kv power transmission line is simulated incorporate with MATLB software the fault simulated with dynamic arc fault model in order to obtain the real behavior of secondary fault arc time to be investigated
