Generate And Evaluate Encryption Keys Obtained From Iris Biometric Data

Biometrics have inherent uniqueness and can provide a higher level of security than traditional methods. Additionally, the use of biometrics reduces the need for users to remember complex passwords or carry physical tokens, enhancing convenience and user experience. The key generation process involves using biometrics such as fingerprint, face, iris, etc. to create a unique key linked to an individual's biometric identity. Among biometrics, the iris has received much attention due to the rich texture of the iris providing strong criteria for identifying individuals. In this message, a key is generated that includes a set of binary numbers from two irises, and the randomness of the resulting key is checked through several measures. To maintain the confidentiality of the encryption key generated between the sender and the recipient, the process of generating and testing the encryption key from the iris is done by downloading a set of high-resolution images from the Internet and using them in the program. Two images of the eye, which represent the iris of the sender and the recipient with high accuracy, are selected and converted (the iris) into a digital representation. The two images are processed and then the characteristics within the iris of the two images are extracted using the HOG (Histogram of Oriented Gradients) method for each of the two images. The key is created from the properties that were extracted and the key is tested using randomness measures (chi-square test, ENT test, block_metric, gab_metric). If the generated key meets the criteria for randomness, then the generated key is random, and if it does not meet the criteria then it is not random.
