Performance Optimization Model of Tomasulo Algorithm Based on Queuing Theory

The Tomasulo algorithm is a computer architecture hardware algorithm used for dynamic scheduling of instruction. The reservation station changes the read-write control mechanism of the architecture by caching instruction information so that the algorithm allows instructions to be issued sequentially and executed out of order. Under fixed cost, arranging the operation rate of functional units in the face of a specific Poisson flow greatly influences the operation rate of the Tomasulo algorithm. According to the queuing theory, each functional unit and the instruction stream corresponding to the functional unit constitute an M/D/1 queuing system model. Based on this, a cost allocation model for the functional units of the Tomasulo algorithm was established under fixed cost, in which the processor used the Tomasulo algorithm to obtain the optimal cost allocation for each functional unit at the optimal processing rate, minimizing the average waiting time of instructions in the system.
