Improving Material Changeover Efficiency in an Assembly Line

The global market is increasingly competitive. Optimizing material changeover times is essential in mass production when the customer requires different materials for different orders to be run at the same station. This study uses TRIZ to design a Pick-to-Light solution that optimizes material changeover time in one of the most significant EMS companies' assembly lines. This study reduces 47.6% material changeover time for the production line and avoids the problem of wrong materials when the line converts orders.
