Design And Development of VFD Enabled Speed Control of Induction Motor Using 3rd Degree Kernel-C2N Model

A typical induction motor requires a 3A current to do the work at its full load capacity (1 HP). However, in any industry, the requirement of an induction motor at its full load capacity is 3–4 hours in a 24-hour running condition. Therefore, the wastage of energy is around 50–60 % of the total energy drawn by the induction motor in a typical working environment. This leads to unexpected budget flow and the production of extra harmonics to the line to which it is connected. In the proposed model VFD system will bring down the energy consumption and at the same time run the induction motor at its full load capacity without compromising the rated power. V/F control action has been planned to operate the induction motor at its full rated capacity while consuming less amount of power.
