A Sound and Complete Algorithm to Identify Independent Variables in a Reactive System Specification

We present a sound and complete algorithm for the detection of independent variables in linear temporal logic formulae. These formulae are often used to specify reactive systems. The algorithm is based on the use of model checkers.
