Polarization Reconfigured Slot Antenna for Aircraft Systems

The reconfigured slot antennas have been proposed in this article. These Microstrip Patch Antennas (MPA) consist of an O-shaped parasitic element that has been configured on the top surface of the patch strip with MA4SPS402-PIN diodes. These PIN diodes have generated the switchable polarization in the radiation pattern. The significant design parameters have been analysed and compared with the standard measurements of the anechoic chamber and VNA analyser. Therefore, it has been achieved to have a less than 3 dB axial ratio in a polarized pattern. The proposed reconfigured slot antennas are perfectly suited for interference mitigation in crowded electromagnetic environments having average VSWR of 2.1dB at 3GHz. The reconfigurable MPA characteristics is 1.34 to 1.72 dB VSWR measurement It mitigates interference caused by coexisting systems on the aircraft. Hence, these proposed reconfigured slot antennas have been justified with standard design parameters.
