Design and Analysis of Dual-band Patch Antenna for GPS and WiMAX

The work proposes a microstrip antenna for usage from 840 to 1500 MHz. The antenna is about 80 × 40 × 1.6 mm3, which is quite small. The antenna is made up of a straightforward geometric construction with a 3- shaped structure that is supplied by a microstrip patch antenna operating under the meander line effect, which can be adjusted to change the antenna's size. Additionally, DGS is used for reducing the antenna size, achieving the extra modes of resonance and wide operational bandwidth. 530MHz–1970MHz and return loss of −19.8 dB and −19 dB at the resonating frequencies of 920 MHz and 1500 MHz.
