Design of Compact T-Shape Slot and Notch Loaded Dual Band Microstrip Antenna for 5G/WLAN Application in S and C-Band

In this article, a compact and dual band T-shape slot and notch implanted rectangular microstrip antenna using line feed has been presented. The total size of presented antenna is only 30×36×1.6 mm

. The design and simulation of this antenna is carried out with IE3D. The designed antenna resonates in dual band at 3.31 GHz with −24.59 dB return loss and 5.08 GHz with −38.45 dB return loss between frequency range 3.14 to 3.48 GHz and 4.77 to 5.37 GHz showing impedance bandwidth 340 MHz (10.27%) and 600 MHz (11.83%) in lower and upper bands respectively. The dual band antenna also shows 4.08 dB and 5.01 dB peak gain while 84% and 85% antenna efficiency at resonating frequencies 3.31 GHz and 5.08 GHz. The presented antenna of dual band is suitable in S-band for 5G and in C-band for WLAN applications.
