Statistical Research on Small Target Monostatic RCS Based on Full-Wave Simulation

In this paper, the monostatic radar cross section (RCS) on small target is investigated using full-wave simulation. Dual-polarized RCS of three frequencies are generated and studied. The radiation properties of the target are considered according to the surface current density distributions. The statistical characteristics of frequency- and polarization-dependent RCS are analyzed. Kolmogorov-Smirnov test is applied and the fitting results show that the Gamma distribution effectively fits the three RCS variations at low frequencies and same-polarization RCS at high frequencies, while the Weibull distribution model and the log-normal distribution model demonstrate excellent fitting performance for same-polarization RCS at high frequencies.
