Influence of the Diameter Ratio of Noncircular Stator Laminations on the Performance of Canned Induction Motor

The diameter ratio of noncircular stator laminations can directly affect the magnetic flux density of the stator yoke and performance. A megawatt canned induction motor is taken as the research object. Five diameter ratios of noncircular stator laminations are motivated to be chosen, and a circular stator lamination is selected for the comparison scheme. The influences of the diameter ratio on the magnetic field and performance are researched. The prototype experiments have verified the validity of the calculation and analysis processes.
