Research on SOP Planning Method for Distribution Network Risk Prevention and Control

With the rapid urbanization and excessive urban load in new power system, it becomes crucial to execute sensible distribution network planning. Simultaneously, higher expectations are established regarding the economy, reliability, and power supply quality of distribution networks. This paper presents a model for selecting suitable sites and determining capacities for intelligent soft open points (SOPs), which enhances the reliability of power supply in the distribution network by facilitating flexible interconnections between regions. The model aims to minimize the operational loss cost of the distribution network, employing second-order cone constraints to transform non-linear constraint conditions such as active and reactive power of SOPs and capacity limitations. This approach enables efficient resolution of the SOP site selection and capacity configuration problem. The proposed planning model is tested and analyzed using the IEEE 33-node distribution system. The computational results indicate that the proposed SOP planning model can effectively improve voltage quality and reduce operational risks of the system while minimizing investment and operating costs.
