Monitoring and Detection of Environmental Pathogen using Bio-Polymer Sensors with Drone

This study introduces a new and innovative method for monitoring and detecting environmental pathogens. A highly efficient system is created by combining Raspberry Pi and LoRa WAN gateway technology with recently developed bio-polymer sensors. These sensors are made from computationally designed proteins and Silk fibroin, which are extremely stable and functional in identifying various environmental pollutants. One of the key advancements of this study is the incorporation of de novo-designed protein switches into the biopolymer matrix. This hybrid sensor platform has proven to be remarkably stable at room temperature, which addresses the challenges associated with material storage. This adaptability allows for the incorporation of the sensors into various forms, including wearable items and functional devices, making them highly versatile and practical. Furthermore, integrating Drone technology and Microcontroller units like Raspberry Pi enables real-time monitoring of airborne pathogens. This is particularly valuable for disease surveillance and control initiatives, as it provides valuable insights into the presence and spread of pathogens. LoRa technology ensures smooth data transfer between drones and ground stations, enabling remote monitoring over long distances. The LoRa WAN architecture uses a star-of-star setup for direct communication between IoT devices and gateways, eliminating the need for complex multi-hop networks. Overall, this study represents a significant advancement in environmental sensing technology. By combining bio-polymer sensors with Raspberry Pi, LoRa technology, and Drone technology, a comprehensive solution has been devised for the monitoring and detection of environmental pathogens. This has important implications for protecting public health and ensuring environmental safety.
