DAC- and DSP-Free Optical Transmitter Based on Triple-Parallel Si Mach-Zehnder Modulators

Triple-parallel Si Mach-Zehnder modulators can be used for PAM generation, pre-distortion, and pre-emphasis without using a DSP and electrical DAC. It reduces the total power consumption of the optical transmitter to 1/3.
