Abstract:

This paper demonstrates a silicon-photonics-based cryptographic circuit for a block cipher. The cipher is based on the one-hot encoding method utilizing thermo-optic MZI switches or Y-branches. The correct output can be calculated with a low latency of approximately 47 ps or 201 ps.
