AR-Based Home Automation

Many Innovations are developed to make life simple and easier. The concept of smart home has grown in eminence during recent years. Current home automation systems will address the issues like theft, data safety and automated decision-making. However, there is need for safety, comfort and compatibility for physically challenged people while working in home automation. The proposed system provides the solution for this by using Augmented Reality (AR). The implementation of AR in home automation offers benefits like greater comfort, safety, and efficiency for physically challenged people immobile, deaf and dumb. The concept of AR combined with IoT enables the control of home appliances using innovative technologies like image processing. Recent research has focused on utilizing AR to superimpose 3D objects for controlling various IoT devices. The proposed system provides the design of an AR-based IoT virtual switch using Unity3D and Vuforia that can be used to control any device connected to a local network through an HTTP request.
