Performance Evaluation and Comparative Analysis of 100kW Wind and Photovoltaic Energy Conversion Systems

Renewable energy sources play a significant role in society after the initiation of industry during 4.0 revolution and a significant rise in power demand. This manuscript focuses on the simulation analysis for the Wind Energy Conversion System (WECS) and Photovoltaic Energy System (PVES) using the System Advisor Model (SAM). This work proposes a simulation analysis of WECS and PVES with an installed capacity of 100 kW. The comparative analysis for various parameters is computed in context of the WECS and the PVES. The study employs with the help of System Advisory Model (SAM) to analyze the renewable energy system. The work is proposed to compute the integrated performance of WECS & PVES, to analyze energy generation on a yearly basis, to compute net degradation, levelized cost of energy (LCoE), DC capacity factor, annual average power & energy generation and energy taken from national grid etc. The study is extended for the computation of energy and power generation from renewable energy sources on yearly and monthly basis. The energy sharing from the WECS and the PVES and from grid is also demonstrated. The studies provide performance evaluation and its comparative outcomes for 100kW the WECS and the PVES.
